Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been close to us that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together.
All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who have been ill and old are restored to health again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Their bright eyes are intent; their eager bodies begin to quiver. Suddenly, they will run from the group, flying over the green grass, legs carrying them ever faster.
You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet again, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses on your face; your hands caress the beloved head and you once more look into the eyes of your trusting pet, so long gone from your life, but never ever absent from your heart.
Then, you cross Rainbow Bridge together…
Beyond the Rainbow Bridge ~
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wonderous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful--lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am a diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush;
I am the swift uplifting rush
of mighty geese in circling flight.
I am the soft moonlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
If it should be that I grow weak, and pain should keep me from my sleep, then you must do what must be done, for this last battle can’t be won. You will be sad, I understand, don’t let your grief then stay your hand, for this day more than all the rest, your love for me must stand the test. We’ve had so many happy years, what is to come can hold no fears, you’d not want me to suffer so, the time has come to let me go. Take me where my need they’ll tend, and please stay with me till the end, hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see. I know in time that you will see the kindness that you did for me, although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering, I’ve been saved. Please do not grieve, it must be you, who had this painful thing to do. We’ve been so close, we two, these years. Don’t let your heart hold back its tears.

Lovingly referred to as Canis Horriblisis xo!
Some pointers are wired! Heide sure was ... but she taught me so much about loving and living and more about dog behaviour and training.
She actually gets much of the credit for starting Paw In Hand Pet Services.
Heide was a once in a lifetime dog that came into my life for a reason.
She had a great life. I am so happy that we got to spend so many good times together.
Thank you Dr.Armstrong for helping her to cross to the other side of Rainbow Bridge.
