Doggie Field Trips - more than just a dog walk!

Your dog can join a group of exuberant, social canines who follow Maren’s lead as they explore different areas around beautiful Sea To Sky Country: bounding up and down hills, zooming through forest trails, splashing in ponds and creeks, racing in open areas, sniffing and romping with buddies!!!

Some trails are steep, some are muddy, some are open, some are dry – all are FUN!  From the time your dog is picked up until being returned home, Maren carefully watches the dogs’ interactions and body language to help ensure that they have a safe and happy hike! Dogs soon learn to wait at doors, look at us for direction, polite group manners, fun recalls away from distractions, settle, drop it and we will help teach your dogs that meeting bikes, people and other distractions means to check in with their people. All behaviour is observed to assist each of them to succeed.

We always consider your dogs’ safety in all our interactions and though there are inherent risks to off leash dog group activity they are minimized by careful observation, interception, behaviour modification and training. We reinforce desirable behaviours using praise, rewards and play. Time outs and redirecting are the only methods we use for "misbehaviours". New doggie clients are chosen carefully to ensure that they, the rest of the group and other trail users will have a harmonious happy hike!

Dogs that have over an hour of off leash running and playing and adventuring time are less likely to have behaviour problems. Owners are less likely to feel guilty.

Included in the service:  off leash trail hike, daily update, pick-up and drop-off, trail training, après hike towel off, quick head to toe check and of course TLC and treats!  Please leave instructions on where to leave dogs that insist on getting extra muddy! Your doggie will be gone from home about 3 hours and will return content and relaxed! You will love that too!

Field trips may be a better option than doggie daycare for dogs that don't necessarily need a full days care or may be overstimulated or overarroysed by such an environment. Contact us if you have a small, senior, slow or special needs dog to discuss if they might be a candidate for out "specials field trip" on certain days of the week


 

$22.32 per field trip plus hst = $25
 

Description: Minimum 1 - 1/2 hour off-leash hike plus scenic tour in climate controlled passenger vehicle's. Average round trip time is 3 hours.


Group size: average 6-8 dogs per hike (we limit our group numbers which means we can focus on consistent training with your dogs on the trails)

Morning field trip: Pick up is usually between 9:00 - 10:00 with drop off  between 12:00 - 1:00.

Afternoon field trip: Pick up is usually between 12:00 - 1:00 with drop off between 3:00 - 4:00.

Frequent Fido punch cards are available for:

- dogs that are regularly scheduled for 2 or more field trips a week

- dogs that are flexible on which two days of the week they go 

- multiple dogs from the same home on a regular or flexible schedule.  

Punch Cards $200 plus hst = $224 for 10 field trips. That's one free field trip or a 10% savings!

Pre-Paid Monthly changes with the number of days in the month but by pre-paying, that's $20 per hike instead of $22.32 or a 10% savings!
