Meet Maren

Maren has had a lifelong love of all animals and has enjoyed sharing her life with a menagerie of pets. Dogs though, have always held the biggest place in her heart!

Over the last 20 years Maren has trained and competed in various activities with her dogs including Agility, Obedience, Rally-O and flyball amongst others. Maren formed the Sea to Sky Canine Sports Club in 1989 and led agility classes for a number of years. Employment as an Animal Control Assistant, a grooming assistant and as a practical nurse rounds out Maren's experience so that she is confident in the many different aspects that a dog service professional encounters.

Having a family of her own turned Maren’s focus to pet dog training. Dog owners in today’s busy society are often challenged in meeting their dogs’ needs. Behaviour problems commonly develop. Overcoming problems in her own dog reinforced her belief that positive training really does work!

Maren shares her life with “Opal” a Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, "Trixie" a terrier X pocket dog, “Caramel” and “Peter” the feline twosome, various rodent, feathered and finned creatures…and of course her very understanding husband Espen and daughters Metta and Sonja. Maren lives and loves the outdoor lifestyle and can be found hiking, biking, running and exploring in beautiful Sea to Sky Country (usually accompanied by at least one dog!)

A lot of people and courses have helped Maren learn different and diverse methods that she has incorporated into her own unique and upbeat style.
